• Your name, billing address, and card details, entered on Stripe's payment page — to take payment for a subscription.

• A reference to your Stripe customer record, your plan entitlements, and whether a payment has failed — to give you access to what you subscribed to.

We use what we collect for these purposes, and where the law requires us to:

• To operate the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems

• To measure how the site is used and how advertising performs

• To take payment for a subscription

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. This site sets:

• Sign-in session — set by Clerk; keeps you signed in and verifies a request really came from you. Kept until you close your browser or sign out. (required for the site to work)
• piasa-studios-theme — remembers whether you chose light or dark appearance. Kept for 1 year.
• _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics; tells one visitor from another so we can count visits and measure how ads perform. Kept up to 2 years.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the ones marked required will break parts of the site.

Third Parties We Share Data With

We share data with the companies that help us run this site, and only for the purpose listed:

• Google (Google Analytics) — website and advertising analytics. They receive pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser, and ad views and clicks. (their privacy policy)
• Clerk — sign-in and account security. They receive email address and sign-in activity, for people who create an account. (their privacy policy)
• Website hosting — our hosting provider receives the technical details of each request, including IP address.
• Database hosting — our database provider receives anything the site stores, including account records.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade or rent it, and we do not hand it to anyone for their own marketing.

The Platform This Site Runs On

This site is built and operated on the Piasa Studios platform. Piasa Studios runs the software, stores the data, and keeps the site online on behalf of whoever operates it.

We say this plainly rather than bury it: using this site means your visit is handled by that platform, and by the companies listed above that it depends on.

Payments

When you subscribe, we also share data with:

• Stripe — payment processing. They receive an internal reference to your account, and nothing else; you give Stripe your payment details on their page, not on ours. (their privacy policy)

How Long We Keep It

We keep what we collect only as long as we need it, then delete it or strip anything that identifies you:

• Request logs — held in our hosting provider's logs, under their retention schedule; we keep no copy of our own.

• Analytics — up to 14 months in Google Analytics.

• Account information — kept for as long as your account exists.

• Payment details — held by Stripe under its own retention schedule, not by us.

• Your subscription and entitlements — kept for as long as you have an account with us.

Your Choices

You can ask us to:

• Show you the personal information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete it, unless we are required to keep it

Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.

We do not sell your personal information. If you are a California resident, the rights above are the ones the CCPA gives you, and you can exercise them the same way.

Security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

When our practices change, we update this page and the effective date at the top of it. Material changes will be announced on the site.
