Agreement

These terms are the agreement between you and Piasa Studios LLC for your use of this website. By using the site, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

These terms have a general part and service-specific parts. Where a specific service's terms differ from the general terms, the specific terms govern for that service.

Acceptable Use

Use this site lawfully. Specifically, do not:

• Break the law with it
• Try to break into it, or into anything connected to it
• Send malicious code, spam, or bulk unsolicited messages through it
• Copy, resell, or redistribute its content without our written permission
• Scrape it with automated tools, except as our robots.txt allows

We can restrict or end your access to the site if you do any of that.

Accounts

Your Account

Some features require an account.

• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and for activity under your account
• Give us accurate information, and keep it current
• You may close your account at any time
• We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms or the law

Subscriptions and Billing

Subscriptions, Renewal, and Cancellation

Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel
• You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal
• When you cancel, you keep access through the end of the period you already paid for
• We will tell you before your price changes, and you can cancel before the new price takes effect
• Payments already made are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise, or where we decide otherwise in a given case
• If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend paid features until it clears

Services and Content

The Business Directory

The directory is our own compilation of local businesses, assembled from public information and from what businesses tell us.

• A business may be listed here without having asked to be, and without any relationship to us
• A listing is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a guarantee of anything
• Details go stale. Hours, phone numbers, and whether a place is still open can be wrong
• Call ahead. Do not rely on this site for whether a business is open

If a listing is yours and something is wrong, tell us and we will look at it. An accurate directory is the whole point, and we would rather hear it from you than get it wrong.

Removal is a different question. You are already on Google Maps, and before that you were in the phone book, for the same reason you are here: a business open to the public is a matter of public record. This directory is our own editorial compilation of those facts. Your presence in it is our decision rather than something you signed up for, and an accurate listing is not something we are obliged to take down.

Personal information is the exception. If a listing carries a home address or a personal phone number rather than a business one, tell us and we will take it down. A person's home is not a business fact, and we do not treat it as one.

River and Weather Conditions

The conditions we show — river stage, forecasts, and weather alerts — are relayed from government sources: the National Weather Service, NOAA's National Water Prediction Service, and the U.S. Geological Survey. We pass their data through. We do not produce it, correct it, or guarantee that what you see is current.

Do not use this site to make a safety decision. For flooding, severe weather, or river conditions, go to the official source or to local emergency services.

Menu and Pricing

Menus are published for information, not as an offer:

• Items, descriptions, and prices can change without notice
• Photographs and descriptions are representative; the actual item may differ
• No item is guaranteed to be available at a given time
• Prices shown here may differ from prices charged at the business

If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, contact the business directly. Do not rely on this website for that.

News and Articles

Articles are drawn from public sources, alongside original reporting:

• Articles are attributed and linked to the original source wherever one exists
• What a source publishes is not controlled here, and its accuracy is not guaranteed
• Reporting can be wrong, incomplete, or overtaken by events; treat time-sensitive information accordingly
• Nothing here is legal, financial, medical, or professional advice

Intellectual Property

The text, images, layout, and design on this site belong to Piasa Studios LLC or to whoever supplied them, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may read and use the site personally. You may not republish, redistribute, or build on its content without our written permission.

Third-Party Content and Links

This site links to websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or how they handle your data. Visiting them is your own risk.

Advertising

Some content on this site is paid advertising. We label it as such.

• Advertisers are responsible for their own claims, offers, and pricing
• An ad appearing here is not an endorsement by us
• We measure ad views and clicks (see our privacy policy), but we do not build advertising profiles about you and we do not sell your personal information

Disclaimer of Warranties

This site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind. In particular, we do not warrant that:

• The site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• The content is accurate, complete, or current
• The site is fit for any particular purpose you have in mind

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Piasa Studios LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site, from anything you obtained through it, or from unauthorized access to your data. Our total liability for any claim is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid us nothing.

Indemnification

If someone brings a claim against Piasa Studios LLC because of how you used this site, because you broke these terms, or because you violated someone else's rights, you agree to cover the resulting costs, including reasonable legal fees.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of IL, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from them will be brought in the state or federal courts located in IL.

Changes to These Terms

We can change these terms. When we do, we post the new version here with a new effective date. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the change.
